Free software limitations and guarantees
Permalink

Virtual Desktop Toolbox is a freeware. We develop during our free time and we try to respond to your questions during this free time too.

This means that we cannot guarantee an immediate correction of bugs and problems and we cannot guarantee a 7x7/24x24 support, even if we're trying to do our best. But we guarantee that we will answer to your question and that we will try to make your life with VDT as simple as possible; just give us time.

We don't think we developed the best software of the world and even the best Virtual Desktop Manager; we just tried to give another original solution to virtual desktops through snapshots, scenarios, different tools, two kind of desktops (virtual or non virtual), user impersonation, remote access, virtual screen, visual menu, ... and many features that you will not find in other Virtual Desktop Managers. However that may be, be sure that we will continue to improve VDT.

If Virtual Desktop Manager doesn't cover your needs, there are 2 or 3 other free Virtual Desktop Managers that are quite good. If you want to get realtime support, you will have to buy another Virtual Desktop Manager (we suppose that if you pay, they give you such a support and many other things).

To get a list of available (free or commercial) softwares, go there http://www.download.com/Virtual-Desktop-Managers/3150-2346_4-0.html?tag=stbc.gp

If you just want to create four desktops without any management feature, Microsoft Power Toys for XP (free) includes a virtual desktop manager that anchors itself within the taskbar; go there for more information http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and click here to download http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/DeskmanPowertoySetup.exe
