I am currently evaluating several Virtual Desktop software packages and I really like this one except for one small issue. I can not get the Google Desktop toobar to work properly with the Virtual Desktop software I really like using the Google Desktop tool bar I have not found this to be an issue with the other virtual desktop software that I have looked at.
Google Desktop creates a sidebar on the right hand side of the screen. Ideally I would like to be able to seklect which Virtual screens it appears on. Currently, if I have it displayed on one virtual screen, then it "reserves" that space on all other virtual screens but does not display the Google Desktop in that space...so you basically the right hand section of the screen is unusable
You have to define the ToolBar as sticky (so it will be displayed on all virtual desktops).
Using the VDT GUI, follow these instructions: right-click the VDT icon in the notification area, go to Settings menu and then Computer; this displays computer's globals settings. Go to the Rules tab and add a new rule as below: Window's class Is equal to _GD_Sidebar
You can choose to make the whole process as sticky; to do this, run the registry editor (Regedit.exe), go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\R2d2KernelAuthority\Parameters key, edit the _StickyPrograms value and add *\GoogleDesktopDisplay.exe to its content. I will add this to the VDT setup this WE.
