How do I turn off desktops bar?

I upgraded from v2.4 to v2.7 and now there is a desktops bar at the top of the screen. I see that I can close each one but I don't want it to ever appear. How do I turn that off? I have turned off the pin but can't figure out where this setting is.

Click on the red button (with a white cross) on the right of the desktops bar. This new setting will be automatically remembered by VDT.
