Auto-hide the Desktops Bar?

Is it possible to "auto-hide" the Desktops Bar? I see no way to change the properties of this bar - in fact, the bar is not even mentioned in the user guide that I see. It would be helpful if this bar could be customized. Maybe it can be and I'm just missing something.
Please advise.

No, there is no auto-hide option for the Desktops Bar. You can however use the Desktops Switcher, that has such an option.
