You're not the first one who suggests this . The visual menu currently behaves like any other standard popup menu.

Making it permanent is not really easy, as it displays existing desktops and snapshots, so we will have problems to dynamically refresh it without using too much CPU. But we note the suggestion and we will try to do it.
