Are you using Windows XP (version, language, SP)? Did you install the whole Mozialla suite? Did you keep the default computer and virtual screen settings in VDT?
We tested this software under NT4 without any problem. We will now test it under Windows XP. Perhaps can you try to reinstall it?
We will try to identify the problem and post more information here when available.
This seems to be a problem with various applications, especially those without listings in the Desktops Explorer, but the two Mozilla applications were the first I noticed this with. Behaviour is that when switching virtual desktops, some windows will begin to appear on desktops other than the one they were originally on. Also, I notice that all windows always appear on the 'default desktop', is this the expected behaviour?
[EDIT] Also, when Mozilla Thunderbird recieves new email and displays the 'New Mail Notification', the main application application window appears on the current desktop. [/EDIT]
I am wondering whether it is possible to 'lock' certain applications to a specific desktop without using non-virtual desktops, by matching classes, window titles, or application executable? And whether it is possible to specify 'sticky' windows - windows that always appear on every desktop by the same method?
One other small incompatibility: CursorXP from Stardock, which customises the mouse cursor disappears when switching to desktops other that the default desktop. This can be overcome by specifying it to run on each non-virtual desktop, but this does not work for virtual desktops. I have a feeling this is more a problem with their software than yours, but I have a feeling that if we could manage 'windowless' applications, this could be resolved.

"Also, when Mozilla Thunderbird recieves new email and displays the 'New Mail Notification', the main application application window appears on the current desktop" A virtual desktop is a software implementation (but non virtual desktops are a system implementation). From other softwares point of view, there is no virtual desktop. This means that if you execute a software within a non virtual desktop, it will display all its windows (notification windows included) within this desktop; however when executing this software within a non virtual desktop, its notification windows will be displayed in current virtual desktop. This is a third-party software issue and not a VDT issue; there is no way to change this behaviour. http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=38157&subForumID=78042&action=viewTopic&commentID=1186638&topicPage=0
"Behaviour is that when switching virtual desktops, some windows will begin to appear on desktops other than the one they were originally on" If an application displays a window (for example a notification window) while you're in a virtual desktop, VDT will consider that this application belongs now to the virtual desktop.
"I am wondering whether it is possible to 'lock' certain applications to a specific desktop without using non-virtual desktops, by matching classes, window titles, or application executable? And whether it is possible to specify 'sticky' windows - windows that always appear on every desktop by the same method?" Actually no, but we note the suggestion.
"CursorXP from Stardock" We downloaded this software; we will try to develop a patch during next week.
