Command Line Values
Permalink Closed

I am learning 2.30.1 and I love it.

I am having a problem with the command line value inserted by the drop-down arrow in the Run window and the wizard and other places where the same structure seems to be used, including the VDT taskbar start menu list in non-virtual desktops. When I use the drop-down arrow to find the program command line, I get back a reference to the windows installer mlus a class ID plus an Icon; something like:

Q:\WINDOWS\Installer\{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}\wordicon.exe

That example is what I get in the Run window when I ask for Word 2003. Of course, it doesn't work; but if I browse to the "\Program Files" directory and find the executable for the command line, that works nicely.

Am I misusing the software, or have I done something wrong? Is there any easy way to fix this, or some location where this information is stored and might be edited? Should I reinstall?

All help will be appreciated.

Thanks again for some very interesting software.

Sorry for this late response.

Don't reinstall. Shortcuts created by Windows Installer are a little bit special as they're using a class ID.

At this time, browse for the executable file. We will try to fix this problem in the next release and we will post information here when available.
