Logitech uses a program KEM.EXE to put an icon in the notification area. (KEM is part of Logitech's SetPoint software, current version 2.14/) KEM then does two things: it adjusts settings and added functionality for mouse and keyboard much like a CPL module in control panel, and it enables functions for the extra buttons, rollers, bells and whistles on the mouse and keyboard.
KEM loads in the default desktop and functions fine there and in virtual windows, but non-virtual windows can't see it. If I add KEM to a non-virtual window (either by run or autorun the autorun/clone registry entries) both the added copy and the original die.
Not having KEM's functionality is not the end of the world, but it would be nice.
Thanks for a product that once was nice but is becomming an addiction!
