Loosing apps from a virtual desktop

I have a virtual desktop called "Internet" which has the option (checkbox) for "immediately switch to desktop" checked.


I've been away from the computer and the screen saver has popped up. When I move the mouse I get my login (password) request. After providing the password I go back to my workspace and watch as all the windows flash and disappear from the virtual desktop. Now they're only on the default desktop.


XP SP2, VDT ver 2.50.
