I'm trying to use Logitech G15 keyboard programmable keys to switch beetween desktops. No problem with virtual desktops. But as soon as I go into a non virtual desktop, keyboard and mouse go crazy!
Some symptoms: a) Right click doesn't auto-select the item under the cursor b) Duoble left click doesn't execute the default action c) Single left click select icons/items but always in multiple mode (as if the shift key is pressed) d) keyboard map is completly scrambled
It happens only if I use programmable keys; i.e ctrl+win+home to go to default desktop works, the same combo assigned to a programmable key doesn't
I suspect it have to do with the logitech software for the keyboard.
What exactly happnes when a non virtual screen is created (my default is VDT as default shell, no windows shell) ?
Click here for more information about non virtual desktops.
Non virtual desktops are standalone desktops (managed by Windows; virtual desktops are managed by VDT), that work with their own set of programs. This means that a non virtual desktop cannot share windows and programs with other non virtual desktops; if you want to work with a program in different non virtual desktops, you have to start one instance of the program in each of them.
Check if the Logitech driver automatically starts a program when you logs on (look at the Run key, the Startup folder, ..); if no, the Logitech driver is probably not compatible with non virtual desktops (you have to use only virtual ones) and only Logitech can correct this.
If the Logitech driver starts a program, you can try to start this program iin all your virtual desktops (this is similar to the CursorXP problem; go here for more information). If this works, continue with this thread and I will say you how to automate this proces.
Ok, Logitech starts 2 exe, so I'v added both to _ClonePrograms (using ClonePrograms as a template), rebooted and ... same problems....
I'm very sorry, VDT is one of the best piece of software I've ever seen in all my 16 years of carrer! But I extensively use logitech G15 LCD & programmable keys and I can't live without
I'll check future version to see if I'll be able to use it (I don't have hopes to see changes from logitech )
